Hint #1 - Add 1/2 cup SALT to a sink full of COLD water, this helps clear out the pipes. Do this every 2 months or if draining slow every month. Info straight from a plumber. The stuff you buy off the shelves is actually not good for the pipes.

Hint #2 - Inexpensive Logs ...If you have a fireplace or camp . Logs that cost next to nothing and can be made this way -Wrap newspapers around a stick and tie tightly with wire.Soak in Charcoal Lighter Fluid or Kerosene(NEVER GASOLINE).When completely soaked,wrap with more dry newspaper and fasten with more wire.Each log will burn for about 2 to 4 hours...*Logs can also be made using just dry newspaper-No Kerosene or Charcoal Lighter fluid.They will not catch as quickly,but will burn longer.

 Hint #3- A clogged shower head is not only a nuisance,it also wastes water and adds onto your bill.Clean metal shower heads by boiling in 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 quart of water for about 15 minutes.Plastic shower heads should be soaked in equal amounts of water and vinegar.

Hint #4 -When you change your aquarium water,save the old water for plants-- it's full of fertilizers.

Hint #5-A peice of chalk or charcoal in your toolbox will attract moisture and keep your tools from rusting .
